For those who ask about a B&B close to Shannon Airport, it's hard to beat this purpose-built house, situated on the approach road to the airport terminal (a 5-minute drive). With a modernized Georgian-style façade and layout, the home offers 4 guestrooms including one family room, all with modern amenities. Hostess is Catherine Collier. Nestled on the West Clare coast 10 miles south of the Cliffs of Moher, this recently renovated Victorian farmhouse is known for its delicious breakfasts. And it's no wonder - owner Rita Meade teaches cooking during the autumn and spring, and "Hands On" cookery mornings with lunch can be arranged for visitors. This is an ideal B&B if you want to be within easy driving distance of the Killimer/Tarbert car ferry which is less than 5 miles away. It is a large two-story country house, situated in a sylvan setting amid rose gardens and opposite Kilrush Woods and Vandeleur walled gardens. Hosts Michael and Mary Clarke welcome guests with tea on arrival and offer a large and varied breakfast menu to start each day. 4 guestrooms are available, 2 of which are en suite; all have in-room TV and coffee/tea-makers. Set on a secluded hillside off the main road and less than one mile east of town, this modern dormer-style farmhouse B&B is surrounded by rock and flower gardens, with views of the bay and the Burren landscape. This restored 200-year-old white-washed farmhouse set amid an 86-acre working dairy farm offers lots to see and learn, plus a collection of friendly pet animals. Best of all, it's located a little over a mile from Liscannor and less then a mile from Cliffs of Moher road. Bridget O'Gorman and family not only provide home baking but they also play traditional Irish music around the fireplace.
